FertilityCare of the Palouse is a nationally accredited FertilityCare Center

Who teaches it?

FertilityCare Practitioners are certified through the American Academy of FertilityCare
Practitioners after they have undergone a 13-month training and internship. They are trained to educate
women in accurately charting their menstrual cycles using the Creighton Model, enabling them to make
family planning decisions as a couple and to manage their gynecological health. Practitioners are also
educated in anatomy and physiology, gynecological disorders, and manifestations of diseases so that they can recognize signs in the client's chart that may indicate health problems.

About Your FertilityCare of the Palouse Practitioners

Monica Eggleston, FNP-C, FCP (Fertility Care Pracitioner), CrMSMC (Creighton Model Medical Consultant, NaPro provider) was trained in Creighton Model FertilityCare and NaPro Technology through the Saint Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska, home of the Creighton Model and NaPro Technology. Monica is thrilled to work with Creighton Model clients, and to bring the first nationally accredited FertilityCare Center to the Palouse!

Pam Olanie, RN, FCP-I is a Fertility Care Practitioner intern, trained to teach Creighton Model charting through the Saint Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska, home of the Creighton Model and NaPro Technology. Pam has been happily married to Aaron for 12 years and is the proud mom of 7.  She has been a registered nurse for over 13 years and has worked for many years to support life-affirming care in our community. Pam is excited to care for women and couples by teaching the Creighton Model System and being an integral part of the FertilityCare of the Palouse team!

How it works:

The primary hormones involved in fertility also act upon the cervix (the lowermost portion of the uterus). In the days leading up to ovulation, estrogen stimulates the cervix to produce a characteristic discharge. Shortly after ovulation, progesterone causes this discharge to dry up. Through accurate observations and with proper training, a woman can reliably determine when ovulation is approaching and when it has passed, as well as approximate the preovulatory and postovulatory phases of her own cycle. Unlike other natural family planning models, the Creighton Model can be used in all situations of a woman's reproductive years including in breastfeeding, long or irregular cycles, anovulatory cycles, perimenopuase, etc.

No pills, prescriptions, side effects, machines, or testing strips needed!

Effectiveness:

When used as a means of avoiding pregnancy, it has a method-effectiveness of 99.5% and a user-effectiveness of 96.8%. When used as a means of achieving pregnancy, 98% of couples with normal fertility are successful within 6 months. (Studies published by Dr. Hilgers et al. in the Journal of Reproductive Medicine, 1998/Vol 43 and 1992/Vol 37, respectively.) Furthermore, couples struggling with infertility can improve their chances of conception by learning how to

accurately identify their days of peak fertility.

Creighton Model System, the foundation of NaProTechnology:

The Creighton Model is the foundation of NaProTechnology, the powerful women's health approach that utilizes the information obtained through charting with the Creighton Model. The many biomarkers found in the Creighton chart help a woman and her NaProTechnology Medical Consultant see signs that would suggest infertility, PCOS, endometriosis, insufficient progesterone, risk of miscarriage, PMS, and other problems. NaPro protocols are also very effective for women who are currently pregnant with a history of miscarriage and other obstetric problems, and who are currently suffering from post-partum depression. The Creighton chart enables NaPro providers to develop a treatment plan that cooperates with the woman's cycle.

How do I get started?

It's easy!  Contact us to get scheduled for our next group Introductory Session.

Private Introductory Sessions can sometimes be provided upon request, as schedule permits.

The Introductory Session is the first step in starting the Creighton Model System, and is required before starting any Creighton follow-up appointments.  All follow-up appointments are conducted privately, one woman or couple at a time.

If you decide you want to be empowered with the Creighton Model System, you can schedule your first follow up appointment after the Introductory Session, and once your first follow-up session is scheduled, you can get your materials packet, including your own Creighton chart and stamps, and start charting the very next day!

The Introductory Session is an overview of the system; the follow-ups are where the nitty-gritty learning takes place and are absolutely essential to learning the system.  The Creighton Model System is a system that is meant to be taught.  While we all love educational podcasts and online videos, this is not a DIY project that can be properly learned without teaching from your FertilityCare Practitioner.  But once you have the system down,

you have these skills and this powerful knowledge for life!
